Abaco Tranquillity
The kitchen has a small microwave, coffee maker, a blender, coffee grinder, full size electric stove, and under-sink water purifier. The VHF (Island phone), is in the kitchen with a complete directory of residents and merchants. Pots and pans are ceiling hung. A pantry holding a small stock of pasta, soup, grain and beer available for your use and replacement. An electric washer/dryer is in the hall closet.
On the main floor there are two bedrooms, both with complete bath + a private outside shower. The tiled screened ‘lani’ extends the real living space and allows full view of the sunsets where one can watch for the elusive ‘green flash.’ The living room has a satellite TV/VCR, a satellite radio, a Bose FM/AM/CD radio player, and a cassette tape player. A large variety of music on CD'S and tapes from classical Mozart/Wagner to Billy Bragg/Miles Davis and pure jazz are available. A number of good VCR taped plays, documentaries and movies fill out the inventory.
Entering our home you will find a charming cypress interior accented by the dramatic cathedral ceiling and 17 feet of window space overlooking the Sea. The spiral stairs leads to the sitting/sleeping room on the second floor and a 360 degree view of the Sea, the Ocean, the Settlement, and the whole Island Landscape. By foot, the house is accessed from the main road by a short wooded path. The path continues past the house and 3 more minutes takes you to the 5 miles of Ocean beach. An even shorter walk South, brings you to the dock on the Sea. Here, one can keep a rental boat, swim and snorkel in water, (like no other), that caresses your body and raises the spirt. The shops, most of the restaurants, and the settlement itself are a 15-20 minute walk. However, 'The Blue Water Grill' restaurant can be seen from the house, it is an easy walk and our favorite place.
